Journalist Pardoned

Former President Bill Clinton has met with Kim Jong Il dictator of North Korea. Four and a half months being detained for supposedly entering the country illegally, have been pardoned. Bill Clinton commanding tremendous respect in N Korea, must have been in negotiations prior to the trip over there. Arrived in an unmarked jet, as a civilian to meet with Jong Il, and escort the two reporters home. After successfully doing so the questions is asked, after months of high profile conflicts of nuclear testing going on in N Korea, is this a sign that they are wanting back in the good graces of the United States government? With some one like Kim Jong Il you may never know until it happens, it is a one man rule and he seems to run the show on his own schedule. With much gratitude that the two women were released and allowed to return home after being sentenced to 12 years of hard labor, we welcome them home.

Cash for Clunkers

Well the government has found themselves out of money again on one of their widely exciting subsidising programs. This one is the CARS program that has put allot of consumer is the motion to trade in their old clunker and a new, more fuel efficient car. Well this went into action last Friday and was heavily publicized by the dealers and the auto companies. After 22,782 vehicles sold and $96 million of tax payer money spent, were do we go from here? Well only time will tell, but another question I have is when to we know something works? If we were to just be giving cars away that were payed for by tax dollars, till we ran out of money would that be considered a success if we were able to give away 20,000 cars? I am sure we could look at it that way.

The Ole Blue Dogs

Well today the Blue Dog Coalition has reached a plan. "We have reached an agreement that will allow health care reform to move forward," Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., said. They have been cutting and chopping these plans in order to gain the support of the Liberal Democrats, and any of the Republicans they can. However, this plan only cuts about $100 billion off of the trillion dollar plan. And the more and more the constituents are finding out that these plans entail they are becoming more and more sceptical about the whole thing. Exactly what our president was afraid of. Again we are seeing that they are putting a rush on the bill in order to keep all of the details out of the line light. I would like to see something as big as what they are trying to do with health care reform I would like to see them take some time and really find the best options.

Common Sense

So President Obama is now being put under the spotlight again for claiming that the officer involved in the arrest of a professor in his own home, is stupid. I just want to know when we are going to take a step back from the right and the left in everything and rely on a little common sense. The right is saying that the officer is now guilty before proven Innocent, and the left is claiming, well as Rev. Al Sharpton put it a black mans worst nightmare. You know what from my non partisan approach to this is this: What happen was stupid any way you look at, I do not think that the officer involved is a racist, and for some reason out to get this professor. Nor do I think it is right that the man was arrested in his own home after showing proof that he lived in the home. If I had a police officer in my home attempting to arrest me on account of something I have not done then I would have some words as well. But as far as this being a malicious act on the officers, I do not see that was the case.

Midyear Fiscal update

Former Princeton economics professor, and Fed head Ben Bernanke went before Congress this week with his midyear update on monetary policy and the economy. In so many words, Bernanke is taking credit for avoiding total collapse of our financial system; he is cautiously optimistic about economic recovery by year-end and 2 to 3 percent growth in 2010; and says he has the tools and wisdom for a carefully crafted liquidity-exit strategy that will prevent future inflation and more asset bubbles.

Obama Polla

A new poll suggests public approval of the way President Barack Obama is handling health care reform is slipping.
The Washington Post-ABC News survey says since April, Obama's approval rating on the issue has declined from 57 percent to 49 percent, with disapproval rising from 29 percent to 44 percent.
The president's overall approval rating stands at 59 percent positive and 37 percent negative. It's the first time Obama's approval rating has fallen below 60 percent in Post-ABC polling since he took office.
The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
Obama advisers are urging critics of their health care overhaul to wait for Congress to finish writing legislation before issuing verdicts.
The president will hold a round-table discussion today with health-care providers at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington.

The end of the race is the hardest.

Health care reform has been on the agenda of the President well before he entered the White House. And now he is one step close to seeing this one through. But how is a country that is already headed towards major financial problems going to be able to subsidise this 50 million people who do not have health coverage? We already are seeing this system attempted with Medicare and Medicaid, not to mention the VA which heaven forbid our system end up like that government ran system. President Obama in a speech today says "I realize that the last few miles of any race are the hardest to run. But I have to say now is not the time to slow down. And now's certainly not the time to lose heart," he said. "We are going to get this done. We will reform health care. It will happen this year." Again we are seeing a rush on a bill that will change the course of this nation in many ways. My question again is why they rush?

Big business meats Big government

Is the large GE corporation attempting to control the government? What GE can do with Cap and Trade, and what they can do with the proposed health care system will drastically change the lives of Americans now and in to the future. In two days they have been able to what Walmart has tried to do in four years, and that is become a bank. GE comes in and asks the Federal government to back all their money and the FDIC says sure. They have basically received TARP money with out having to go through the right process. We still have no idea what stands as GE Capital, so far we have backed more that $70 billion we have backed their loans.

So is this what it has come to in this country how has to power to lobby for power. With Tom Dachle's just hired as a lobbyist for GE, and Jeffery Immelt CEO of GE sitting on the Obama economic advisory panel. GE is setting up infrastructure within the White house. With them being in health industry, power, wind, you name it they have a majority share of the market is several different aspect that the Federal government is their largest customer. I think it is absolute insidious what GE is doing, and what they are doing is what is best in the eyes of GE for GE.

Where is Hillary?

Usually in the world travels as a President the Secretary of state will travel along being that his kinda their job. However as we see President Obama traveling to 9 different country's by the time he is done, Mrs. Clinton is no were to be found. As first lady and her foreign affair experience, she may be a good one to have in times of many world issues.

Cap and Trade

Among the many reasons President Obama and the Democratic majority are so intent on quickly jamming a cap-and-trade system through Congress is because the global warming tide is again shifting. It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as “deniers.” The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S.

Fair and Balanced

I have just been thinking allot lately about how we receive our information, for anything like political news, economic, and world events. It is from the media, and whether you read the New York Times or the LA Times most of the time you are reading new with a twist. Such as the recent poll in the New York Times suggesting that 57 percent were willing to pay higher taxes for universal health care while 37 percent were not willing to and 6 percent had no opinion. So with me reading this I am seeing here that the majority of people would like to have social health care system. However, you find the question asked at the bottom of the page who did you vote for? 48 percent of those people voted for Obama and only 25 percent voted McCain, and the other 19 percent did not vote. But by my recollections the popular vote was a little closer that 2 to 1 for Obama right, more like 53 to 46 percent Obama. So what I am seeing here is that the media is able to show there information the way they want to, not the way things actually are. With the 4th of July here I just want to mention that Thomas Jefferson nor John Adams were a fan of the media however, they did know that is was necessary to have in a Democratic republic. So these media sources were given special privileges to have the ability to report what was actually occurring. I just wish we could have that option of being able to have the fact straight down the middle no right or left, just the facts.

Sotomayor is Sotocrazy

In the case of Ricci v. DeStefano, we see that the newly appointed justice has been publicly seen as a completely liberal Justice. After ruling that the firefighters that had passed the test to be promoted were not to be because they were White or Hispanic. Is was the black firefighters who were promoted based solely on there color. I am just a little worried that this may be the first show of many of Sotomayor and here views in action.

Is the rest of the country following California fiscally?

With facing a nearly $24 billion deficit in the great state of California, and some 38,000 of 168,000 state prisoners may be released. As Barack Obama is pushing universal health insurance, California will cut Medi-Cal for the poor. Education will be slashed, resulting in a shortened school year, thousands of laid-off teachers, school closings and an end to summer programs in a system that has plummeted from the nation's best to one of its worst, as measured by dropout rates and academic achievement. What makes this relevant to us as a nation is that California is our most populous state with one in eight people living there, and with a GDP larger than that of Canada. Now we are seeing that the social and fiscal policies of California the last few years are modeling that of the federal policies today. So as California has spent its way to fiscal devastation, so we to a nation are writing checks we can not cash.

Boxer

I don't mean to be coming with things of less importance than say the conflicts in Iran, or the Economic situations. However I feel that we need to be aware of some of the people running our country and how they are incredibly out of touch with reality. Unemployment

Just 10 days before taking office, Obama's top economic advisers released a report predicting unemployment would remain at 8 percent or below through this year if an economic stimulus plan won congressional approval. In May of this year unemployment reached 9.4 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics with no real signs of stopping. At this point I am not sure if we can clearly see that pumping billions of dollars of artificial dollars into the economy is the best way to bring lasting jobs to this economy.

Iran's Elections

John McCain told Fox News today, that he did not feel that President Obama was doing everything to show his support for elections in Iran and civil rights for Iranians after a presidential election there that "everybody knows" was corrupt. However President Obama does not want the US to appear as meddling in others business. I guess if Liberty is not part of America than what is hu?

Rush Rush Rush

I need to stick with this health care reform again today. President Obama wants health care reform this year. He said at a town hall meeting the other day that he won't tolerate "endless delay" and that we probably won't reform health care if we don't do it this year. Now why is that Mr. President? Consider that it's not unusual to take a full session of congress -- two years -- to pass legislation a fraction of the size and consequence of health care reform. Yet our president is demanding that a bill to overhaul a $2.5 trillion sector of our economy -- one sixth of it -- be considered and passed in a few short weeks. It ought to be clear that this is not about taking an honest and sincere look at how to make this a better country and how to do a better job at delivering health care to Americans. It's impossible to look at something this massive and deal with it in such a short time frame. This is about raw politics. When Mr. Obama says that if we don't get "it" done this year we probably won't get "it" done, he doesn't mean reforming health care. He means reforming it the way he and Ted Kennedy want to do it. It seems to me anytime the government wants you to make quick decisions on such big plans like this or multibillion dollar bail outs that need to be moved on overnight or total disaster will be inevitable. Let’s take our time and make good decisions people have been doing it for centuries.

Health Care

OBAMA: One of the options in the exchange should be a public insurance option. (applause) Now -- and the reason is not because we want a government takeover of health care. I've already said, if you've got a private plan that works for you, that's great, but we want some competition. If the private insurance companies have to compete with a public option, it will keep 'em honest and it will keep -- (applause) -- help keep their prices down.

This is just a clip from the speech given in Green Bay were the President is selling his health care plan. Now that the government has decided to jump into the private sector and compete in the "free market" now pushing more in the health care system. I am just wondering what they are going to try to join next maybe Walmart needs some socialized competition, or even McDonalds who knows.

So whether we call it socialized medicine or single payer plan if the government gets involved and undercut the whole of the health care industry from insurance to hospitals to doctors and staff. This would just be the first step in the full government run health care.

Government Motors

Well now that the Obama administration "owns" a clear majority in the automaker General motors I still try to understand their motives in doing so, rather than letting the company follow a standard chapter 11 bankruptcy. They say because the ramifications would be closing many factories, and many job losses, as far as I can see this is what is happening anyway. We also hear that the government is the silent partner in all of this, which best reflects the best interest of the American tax payers? I am not sure, the one thing I do know is that as the free market stands even if the government does dictate the type of vehicles GM and Chrysler makes people still have the right to buy what they want and if it not a GM then no amount of government involvement will help sell cars people do not want.

Pelosi Endangering our Troops

Now that our speaker of the house has openly claimed that the CIA is a agency of liers and totally through them under the bus, she now takes it one step further. She is now wanting to further endanger our troops by publishing a set of pictures that may just enrage the opposing side of these wars that we find ourselves in. All the while we find politics taking the place of National security, but as long as she stand behind a microphone at a press conference and is able to say what ever she needs to say without recourse from anyone in power she will remain. I would recommend anyone who reads this that they contact Speaker Pelosi and speak your mind about this issue we know face as a country, we still run this thing, and need to let them know that.
